Industrial PhD student in Strategic Innovation for Sustainable and Smart Ecosystems (SIS2E) at CNLab from 2024. Veronica Fontanini obtained her Master's degree in Medical Biotechnology (NANOBIOTECHNOLOGY curriculum) at the University of Trieste in 2024. Veronica's main research activity is the development of 3D cell culture to study strategic therapies against Glioblastoma: the PhD student will spend a period at Real Research S.A. (Kraków, Poland) to develop a sustainable 3D cell culture with scalable processes and at the Donostia International Physics Center (San Sebastian, Spain) to design innovative (nano)drugs to target GBM cells and to cross the blood-brain barrier.
My experiences and studies have led me to acquire skills in BBB and GBM model construction, nanotechnologies, cellular and molecular biology, and have enabled me to work confidently across interdisciplinary fields.
